XAI

SpaceXAI (formerly the startup xAI) is the artificial intelligence division of SpaceX. Founded by Elon Musk, it develops frontier AI models and products like the Grok chatbot, as well as space-based AI capabilities, and operates the massive Colossus supercomputer. Following a massive multi-billion dollar merger, the former AI startup xAI and the social network X (formerly Twitter) were fully absorbed into SpaceX. The company’s flagship products feature generative AI reasoning models, coding assistants, and voice agents under the SpaceXAI brand, which are directly integrated into the platform formerly known as X. SpaceXAI aims to solve terrestrial AI energy limits by developing orbital data centers powered by space-based solar arrays. The company powers its training workloads using its own bespoke supercomputers, including the 200,000-GPU Colossus supercluster.
